Do I
presume that you approve of invasive intervention by any rider/owner or do you
propose that any such intravenous supplementation be by vet administration only.
If it
is the latter then this can, and should, be considered veterinary treatment. If
it is to be allowed for rider/owner intervention then you have an uncontrolled
invasive treatment situation. The possibility of non-professional persons
performing potentially infectious procedures (the dirty needle syndrome observed
in humans?) as well as the application of contraindicated substances.
