Say for example, three horses that top-tenned a ride were put on IV's to "pick them up" after a hard race. Perhaps if it was done by ride vets, those horses would be disqualified? Or again, does that then encourage the really competitive folks from seeking needed treatment? This is a personal concept for me, not something I have thought about as something for regulation from AERC. *For me* I wouldn't have top tenned if I thought my horse needed a pick-me-up - I'd have over-ridden. I want to finish a ride with a horse that an hour later is ready to go on, all by itself. That's my satisfaction and that's a personal requirement only. I put it out into the world for consideration, not particularly as a hard recommendation. ________________________________ Lif Strand www.fasterhorses.com Quemado NM USA =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
