Re: [RC] color genetics questions - Zephyr Arabians--- Heidi Smith <heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Regarding black CMK horses--there is certainly the occasional black Davenport. Rene Feuille has one in Oregon. Ah, I never seem to think of Davenport. Bad me. Also, the old Babson breeding produces a fair number of blacks--not CMK, but similar old-line breeding. The Babsons are the majority of the black Egyptian programs that I think of when I think "black breeding." There are a few "new Egyptian" black programs, but I think of Babsons as the primary black Egyptians. Ok, that sounded really weird and I'm too lazy to try to correct it. :) Suffice to say that my brain puts "Babson" into "Egyptian" even though there are some Babson Polish horses, and *most* Egyptian is "new Egyptian" not Babson. Wow, I think I made it worse. ~Nicole ===== * Zephyr Arabians & KattWmn Web Design * * http://www.zephyrarabians.com * * http://www.kattwmn.com * * From the "Horse Capital of the USA" Norco, CA * * * * You have the right to remain silent, anything * * you say can be misquoted and used against you. * __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
