Re: [RC] [RC] transitioning a horse from pasture to Ridecamp feeding - Nancy MittsWe feed steamed crimped oats with a sprinkle of our elytes and prairie hay. Even though they're always on pasture we give the horses we take to rides a little hay, (They'll almost always eat some) and we feed them hay after training rides. We'll give them a hay cube or two as a treat during the day. At rides we'll wet the oats and offer some carrots. Sometimes we'll soak alfalfa hay cubes into a slop. That's all we do different.Nancy Mitts From: Jerry & Susan Milam <milamj@xxxxxxxxxxx> Alright ridecampers......... I have a seemingly silly question to ask. For those of you who have your horses on pasture 24/7, when do you start preparing them for the menu they will be eating while away from home at the races? I think Susan G is out riding and having a good time so we'll probably miss her input on this one at least at first. _________________________________________________________________ Get McAfee virus scanning and cleaning of incoming attachments.
