Hi I am new to endurance too. I have
lurked & learned so much. I live in central FL. & I have to give my Arab
2 tablespoons of salt, as soon as it starts getting down to about 50* as he will
not drink when it gets this cold. He gets it mixed with his feed every feeding.
Also since he does not get a winter coat, he gets sheet at about 55*
and blanket
at 50* and under. My Vet had me start this program
of breaking up mineral salt for his feeding's, as he actually would dehydrate as
soon as it got cold. So it does make a difference as to what climate you
live in. I lurk, I learn, and I
also had to find out what is best for my horse in
this climate. Thanks all of you from newbie that has learned so
much!!
