[RC] arrhythmias - terre

...especially with the use of hand-held or electronic heart rate monitors--it's one of the reasons I fear to see them in general use. I recall from years of vet sec'ing (is that a word?) for Dr. Jim Bryant (Sr.)--if a horse came in whose pulse was erratic (even if bpm were less than criteria) to call it to his attention immediately. I mean--thunp, thump...THUMPTHUMPTHUMP...thump, thump, thump....THUMPTHUMP.. like that. BIG trouble possibly brewing, even tho the count will be 60. I don't think the hand helds will catch this like a stethoscope will.
