Re: [RC] West Nile - Susan Garlinghouse, DVMPeople are being gouged. A local rancher got his for $4/shot from somewhere in Texas (I'm in NM). My regular vet offered me WNV vaccine for $25/shot. Prices may have differed since last spring, but the last time I bought a 10-dose vial of WNV vaccination at the VTH's cost, it was about $112---$11.20 per dose. Add in cost of the needle and syringe ( a few cents), plus a normal non-retirement-padding-non-gouging markup, and you're probably somewhere around $18-20. I haven't a clue where anyone could have gotten vaccine for $4 a dose. I sorta wonder if the vaccine was really WNV, or just pink lemonade in a vial.
