Up until recently (about the last ten years) ALL hurricanes and tropical storms were given women's names.

It wasn't until political correctness came along that this changed. In 1969, there never would have been a hurricane named Andrew.

Personally, I think that women lost out by the change in policy. It is unfortunate that women didn't know enough to appreciate being associated with some of the most powerful forces on earth.

Oh well.
