Only the rider knows what the injured horse can
do. Listen to the advice and all the other things that you did, then do
what your gut tells you. Knew personally a horse that came back from a
bowed tendon, went down trail for years, and loved doing it. Even
won! He would check thru in the beginning with a bowed looking leg but not
lame. When the horse finished, the leg was straight, no bow, no swelling,
nothing. I had a gelding that had a splint removed. He always
carried puffiness where the splint had been. Always moved funny in the
right circle. This horse did trail, endurance and competitive, until he
was 23, then just a trail horse. The splint was removed when he was
6. Sure didn't hold him back one iota. He had over 2500 miles to his
credit. And remained sound until the day he died. There is always
some good in advice whether positive or negative, but the owner's input is the
most important. Jeanie
