[RC] packing the kitchen sink--was vet drop bags - Jonni JewellI think though, that those who pack those HUGE heavy drop bags, should be required to volunteer at a ride to load and unload them out of a truck to transport them for the riders. At Bryce, one day, there was a HUGE mud bog on the road into the vet check. Not all the vehicles could get through the bog. They had to transfer all the drop bags from a horse trailer, to the back of a pick up truck, so they could be brought into the stop, then they were unloaded at the stop. Here is a way to tell if your bag is too big and heavy. *It has wheels on it, as it is too heavy to carry *You complain about carrying it over to the truck or trailer that will take it to the vet check from your campsite. *When you place it in the truck/ trailer, you can only get it as far as the rear of the vehicle. It is to heavy to toss up front so others do not have to climb over the pile to find room for their bag. *You realize when the bag is empty, it could double as a body bag, or hold a whole bale of hay (3 wire, California big bale) *When you get to the vet check, you have to ask someone else to get your bag for you, as it is to big to carry or drag as you also hold on to your horse. *When you are walking back from gathering your bag at the end of the day, it is still SO big and heavy, no one asks you if they can help you with that. I feel management is doing me a FAVOR by taking a bag to the vet check for me.......
