[RC] Wintec Pro Stock - Aaron TurnageComing in with his winter coat, my 5 yo gelding is also growing in some white patches behind his withers. I knew my saddle was a little too tight but thought I had solved most of the problem with padding. I guess not. So I'm on the great saddle hunt. I have to admit that I'm VERY attracted to the Wintec's with the adjustable gullet and CAIR panels becuase I know my horse is going to grow and change even more and I like the idea of a saddle that will "mold" and change with him. Since I have been riding in a western-type saddle, I'm looking at the Wintec Pro Stock (Australian) model since Wintec does not make a western-type endurance saddle. The Pro Stock DOES come with both CAIR and the adjustable gullet. If the Pro Stock doesn't work, I'm also considering the 2000AP as it feels very secure and the Endurance model puts me in a "chair" seat. Unfortunately, our local stores stock all the Wintec models except the Pro Stock.... Has anyone used this saddle? How are the poleys positioned? What is the twist like? Does it require an overgirth? For all Wintec users, do you like the CAIR and adjustable gullet system? Any complaints? Has the saddle adapted as your horse has changed? I also really like some of the treeless saddles, but I only have about $1,000 to spend and won't actually be able to afford the saddle until November or so. Until then we're just doing short rides and I'm going to try to ride bareback more often (yikes!). Thanks!
