The trail was treacherous and it was still pouring down rain. I did the exact same thing at a ride last October...I pulled halfway through the 50 with a horse that got all As and was still being an obnoxious beast, fighting me to go faster than I thought he should. One of those horrendous Texas storms blew in (complete with trees coming down) just as the 50 started, and it was a torrential downpour all day. Didn't mind riding in the rain, but the trails were getting really bad. I just didn't want to risk my horse by continuing on...probably would have completed just fine, but *might* not have...I'll never know, but I *do* know that we were good to go at the next ride a week or so later. I figured that was a good use of RO. Dawn in East Texas =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
