RE: [RC] Range Rider helmets -- no longer certified - Don and Pam Bowen
Title: Message
I have a
really bad feeling on this one!My
husband bought a Range Rider on 5/30/03, he loved the way it fit.The following day he and horse suffered
a horrible crash when the trail collapsed (that’s a different, very long,
dramatic story!).He hit his head,
hard.The helmet saved his head
but the helmet also suffered obvious damage. We followed the instructions provided on the insert,
enclosed a check and mailed the helmet to them (I believe we used UPS).The helmet was returned to us with a
notation on the box that said “moved”.It is the same address listed on the website.I called the phone number, it belongs to a different
business.I tried to email,
nothing.My husband called the
lady that sold it to him, she said she was having the same problem but would
pass on the info when she got it, haven’t heard from her either. My gut feeling is that Range Rider is
no more.
For me
it’s ok, he only paid $55 for the thing, small price for the job it did, even
if he did only get one day’s use out of it, it just happened to be the right
day!For my husband, not ok, he
has to do the comfy helmet search again!Anyone out there that loved the Range Rider that has found a suitable
replacement?
Pam

I found the web site of the company that
makes the Range Rider helmets and sent them an email asking why the
certification was withdrawn. It's been about 24 hours. So far - no response.
