Re: [RC] [RC] Canine teeth and horses age - Nancy MittsWell, we've got a 2 year old starting to get his upper ones.Monte's old mare had all 4 by age 4. We have a 6 year old that just cut his this Spring. We raised these, so we know their ages are correct. I'd guess it's not a dependable way to tell. Nancy Mitts asked the vet to confirm). I have had a couple of vets, horseshoers and trainers look at him and had answers of between 6 and 8, with 7-8 being the consensus. Well, in the last couple of weeks he sprouted upper canines! Everything I can find on the 'net says the canines come in between 4 and 5. His behavior has always been consistant with a younger animal, but that could be environmental and lack of socialization. He is low man in the herd, is very emotionally immature/insecure, and still "gapes" his whole mouth to show submission like a foal. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
