Re: [RC] Aussie saddle - Sisu West RanchI rode a few years in an Aussie. It was a great balenced endurance saddle. The "Poleys" (those thigh things) are the greatest invention since canned beer. If the saddle is the right size for you (you should just be able to slip your hand between the Poley and your thigh) they don't contact your leg unless there is a major shy. Then you can grip and hold on completely secure. The other neat thing about an Aussie is the stuffing can be moved around or added to to adjust fit to the horse. As for pads, any good pad in an English or Aussie shape will work. Because of my weight, I needed more total area bearing on the horse so I switched to an OF. I still have the Aussie.
