Hello to all the Great ride Vets. There is a young
lady here in our community, that is trying to get into vet
school. She
is a great kid, a real hard worker, and as honest and good as they come.
She has I think a 3.8gpa, don't quote me there, and has all her
requirements. She is ready to go! She didn't get in to vet school for
this coming year, but she is top of the list if someone drops out. What
she is concerned about is getting the letters of recommendation from working
with vets. She wants to focus on horses. She wants to come back home here to
practice. Her family is willing to set her up a clinic here. We are a small
town, with allot of rural ranches and places, lots of horses and cows, and a
growing retirement community complete with pampered poodles. We seriously
need her to get thru school and come back home to take care of all our
critters. The nearest horse vet is 100 miles away, in any direction. This
is kind of a serious situation. Emergency care is out of the question. If ya
cant take care of it yourself or get them trailered you are S.O.L. Nobody
will come down here for an emergency call. So what I am wondering is if any
of you Vets have any advice, or can help her in any way. Do you know of any Vet
anywhere that would take her in and help her get her recommendations so she can
get in next year. We just so badly need her here. Seems like we are
always hearing about someone complaining about no Vet here. I/We would sure
appreciate any advice or help. Please E/me private. Thank You, Annie
G.
