Which
neoprene did you use? The Professional Choice type neoprene with the waffle like
appearance or the smooth soft neoprene?

RIDECAMP Subject: [RC] girth galls
Anybody have any good tips/advice for dealing
with girth gals?
My new horse is a bit overweight and getting
fit but is a very easy keeper.....We have tried neoprene (ripped him open) and
soft fleece (works 50% of the time). I ride in a BM treeless with dressage
girth (converted it to english rigging). We give him time off to heal up when
it opens up but then is ok for a few rides, then opens up again. We try to set
the girth back but with his fat tummy, it goes forward sometimes. Does he just
need to work thru this and that area toughen up with time? We put a large slab
of vaseline on area before riding, neosporine after ride. His body is changing
quite a bit since the past owners didn't ride him alot and fed him TOO much
grain (food=love?). Crupper didn't help--his belly made it slide forward,
while the saddle stayed back. Any tips?
