Re: [RC] Barn and Building suggestions - Sue Riegel WilliamsI recently completed a 'pole-type' barn kit from Sonoma County Barns (SC Barns), Sonoma, CA. They build your kit per your directions from 12 x 12 ft sections. Each section is constructed of steel tubing, as are the rafters and purlins. The 12 ft sections have 3 columns which you fill with pre-cut TiG 2x6 boards. You can stain the boards to any color you want. My barn is 40 x 48. It has 4 12x12 stalls (2 on each side); a 12 x 10 tack room and a 12 x 14 wash area on one side with the 2 stalls; and the other side has a 12 x 14 hay storage area, plus 2 stalls. I had the aisleway made 16 feet wide. I have good drainage here, so used a 6" base of 3/4 minus rock, compacted, with mats in the all areas. The whole thing went up in about 9 days. You can reach them at 707-795-3513. I think they have a website, but don't have the addy handy. Sue __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
