[RC] AERC Statistics - John TeeterTruman has applied his statistical expertise to the analysis of the 2002 AERC ride season data. I hope he does more!!!:)Summary: ..... While one must be careful with interpretation of any statistical test beyond it's technical meaning, there are some interesting observations that can be made. First many people have expressed the opinion that there was a difference in metabolic pull rates within the AERC while the lameness pull rates were probably the same. What the data shows is the opposite is true. Metabolic pull rates are uniform through out the country. It also shows that there is no difference in metabolic pull rates at pioneer vs. single day rides. This is somewhat contrary to "popular wisdom." The situation for lameness pulls is different. That also seems to be a surprise. In fact the difference is fairly startling and warrants additional investigation.
