There's another baby diaper rash ointment that I considered 10X better than Desitin. Too expensive to use on girth rubs, etc. but for a person it might be worth it. It's called Saratoga Ointment. It's got a higher percentage of Zinc Oxide. You moms know how it is when your baby was just fine, then for one reason or another (such as dad babysat all day) got a *really* bad blistering rash. Just the tiniest dab of Saratoga (about 1/8") rubbed in (it's not thick & gooey like Desitin) and the rash would just heal overnight. Even back then it was about $11 per tube but one tube literally lasted me till that child was out of diapers.
