Re: [RC] [RC] Senior horse - PSaintjohn - A. PerezWhere he mine, I would have a basic check-up done (bloodwork, teeth checked, fecal check for parasites). Rule out any obvious, treatable problems that might be causing the weight loss. If nothing turns up, and your horse is eating well and seems happy, don't worry about it. Blanket him in the cold weather if needed to make up for the lost insulation. My 'bellweather' as to when enough is enough is the apparent happiness of the animal. Most critters will lose interest in food and friends when their 'time has come'. As long as he finishes his supper, and takes an interest in his buddies (human and otherwise), I'd assume he wants to stick around. ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
