Re: [RC] Not an Endurance Rider.... - Truman PrevattI hate to interperate someone elses comment. That said, I'll do it anyway. I think what the comment meant as stated in the Kenny Rogers song, "... you have to know when to hold, you have to know when to fold em......." Just as the gambler had to be in tune with the game, the endurance rider has to be in tune with his horse. Some times you will need to pull. You might be able to ignore it a time or two and get away with it, but then again it will catch up with you and when it does you will rue the day to temped fate.Laura has done a great job, but most of us don't have a great horse like her's and lady luck also enters into the equation. Stuff happens and when it does we had all better recogonize when SJAR (something just ain't right) hits or we may wish we had. The good thing about the first pull is it's over with and life can go on - minus the obcession of not getting pulled. Truman April Johnson wrote: Hmmm. Well, let's see. According to Laura Hayes' online record, she went ten seasons and over 50 endurace rides before having a pull. Granted, she could have had a pull prior to 1985....Hey, Laura, how's it feel not to have been an endurance rider for those 10 years? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
