Re: [RC] silly questions re electrolytes - Heidi Smithbut when Tums hit my stomach they react with the acidmaking gas, causing me to burp. Does it not affect the horses thatway? It better not...since they can't burp. >g< Personally, I take 2 a day (for calcium) when I remember to and have no problem myself so don't know if that's a common reaction. Hmmm.... Human nutrition is not my bag, but it seems to me that the calcium in Tums is pretty "bio-un-available" (despite all the TV commercials featuring women saying, "Hmmm, contains calcium--something my body needs anyway!") So I wonder if it is worth the effort to take Tums for the calcium... Heidi (who much prefers milk, milk, and more milk anyway, but seems there are better means than Tums for the non-milk-drinkers out there....) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
