[RC] EPM endurance horse owners how long for rehab>? - Laurie Durgin - Floyd & Margaret Reid

Laurie:

   I have previously reported the recovery time on my mare, Hadima, you may
have read it.
   My mare's first lame step was Jan 1, 2002.  We had intended to do her
first 50-miler on Jan 19.
   My vet examined her and drew blood on Jan 9.
   I consulted my former vet in Oklahoma City, who stated that a blood test
was a waste of time/money, the mare having been born in Oklahoma, and moved
to California May 2001.
   We cancelled the blood test, ordered the Marquis and did the spinal tap
which returned "a weak positive".
   We had the Marquis on Jan 14, and completed the 28 day cycle.
   I started exercising her July 15.
   We completed our 50-miler at Coso Junction Jam II, on November 10, 2002.
