RE: [RC] bitless bridle - Karen WilliamsI love the Bitless Bridle! I use it on both my horses, one of which can be pretty much of a hot-head. But I did quite a bit of ring work in it before taking them out on the trails. I do a lot of lateral flexation and one-rein stops (Clinton Anderson methods). If he gets too strong we end up doing a lot of circling. A few weeks ago a friend and I went out on my two horses. I only have one bitless and that was on the horse she was riding. I had a snaffle on the one I was riding. I had forgotten that particular bit pinches his lips, so partway through the ride we switched bridles. After a while she said she really noticed a difference in the way the horse she was riding felt -- he was much lighter with the bitless. (i couldn't hold him back with the bit, either.) the good part is that he used to buck with the bit and now he NEVER bucks. but he's still strong. i'd love to hear from someone who has a bitless bridle and a strong horse? thanks! lori =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
