How many life time 100's is the most a horse has done? What horse did it? How many years did it take to do them? And, what is the record for one horse in one season on the amount of 100 mile rides? I have seen a few do 4 in a season but wonder what the record is. Did this horse go on to have more successful seasons? Just wondering what the stats are on this. I don't know what the record is, but I'll bet Joe Long's Kahlil Khai comes close. I don't know what he did prior to 1985, when all we have are overall mileage totals (he had 5030 miles already at that point) but after that, he ran 4 100's in 1985, 10 in 1986, 9 in 1987, 1 (ROC) in 1988, 2 in 1989, 1 in 1990, and 3 in 1991. He continued to do rides until 1998 and has a career total mileage of 11525. And he tended to run his up front. Another horse that is impressive is Rushcreek Lad--he earned a lot of his miles (21025 career miles) on multidays, but did throw a few 100's in for variety--5 (plus one 95-miler) in 1985, 9 in 1987, 7 in 1988, 6 in 1989, and one in 1992. RT Muffin did 4 in 1985, 1988, and 1991--again, pretty much all up front--as well as several others in various other years. He had a career total of 9155 miles, and earned over 100 wins, and close to 100 BC's. RO Grand Sultan (Rio) likewise ran up front, and did 4 100's in each of the years 1985, 1990, and 1993, not to mention 1988 when he did 6, which included wins at Tevis and WEC, 2nd at ROC, Big Creek and Trail Digest, and 3rd at Equest--never mind that he went out the day after Equest and did another 50, winning that and getting BC. He has a career total of 10005. DR Thunder Bask (career total of 14580) has not been as prolific at 100's as some, but still regularly did a few--with 5 being his highest per year, in both 1990 and 1997.
