RE: [RC] Archives - John A. TeeterThe reason is to keep email address scavengers out of the archives. I've been monitoring access quite regularly - and have blocked a number of them over the past three months. I need to put in a block which a person can get through but a program can't. Likely it will be a "tell me the secret word" kind of thing - one for all rather than one for each individual. I'll do it next week-end and the secret word will be "rio". tell your friends..... this sad state of affairs brought to you by the indiscrimate spammers of the world. johnt -----Original Message----- From: ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of April Johnson Sent: Wednesday, May 07, 2003 5:19 PM To: Ridecamp Subject: [RC] Archives Went to the archives today. Love the archives. ;-) And found the following notice. "Coming Soon: A login will be required to access the archives." Just curious, what's that about? What's the reasoning behind a login? And are the logins going to be secure? Or even individual? I have no problem with requiring a login. Just curious as to the reasoning and logistics behind it. Did I miss a discussion about this? Maybe I should go to the archives! LOL. April Nashville, TN =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
