Re: [RC] Rushcreek farms, so few - Heidi SmithI have been asking about rushcreek farms. I have noticed in my search to find them, that there are very few farms. I have only heard of three in the us. Does anyone know why there are so few rushcreek farms compared to the amount of Egyption farms, polish and Russian. Does anyone know why? Also, what do you know about them, i have heard they are very ruggid but if they are so great why dont more people in endurance have them? thanks so much. "Rushcreek" is the name of ONE farm--(just like Al-Marah or Cedardell or Crabbet or Hyannis are all farm names). They bred horses of primarily Dean circle CMK breeding for many years, and were noteworthy for the number of successful endurance horses that they produced. There are horses of Rushcreek's breeding in many modern breeding programs, and similar CMK lines continue to be sought as endurance horses, since the CMK horses in general tend to be bred to be sound and reliable athletes. So, if you are looking for the "line" that Rushcreek bred, it is CMK. Breeders who continue to use the Rushcreek horses in their programs would not particularly call their horses "Rushcreek" horses since that would be sort of like stealing Rushcreek's farm name. Hope that clears up the confusion. Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
