[RC] Blood work recommended? - drhopkinsI would really appreciate any input as to what specifically should be tested for a baseline blood workup and to see if he would be predisposed to tying up. The vet was out last week and drew blood. I told him I wanted a Coggins, Sport Horse blood work up and make sure that the Selenium is tested. He didn't know what a 'Sport Horse Blood work up' was and wanted me to tell him exactly what I wanted tested. It turns out that he has to come back out to draw more blood because he needs 2ml just for the Selenium testing. He's a young doctor, very good with the horses and very willing to do anything I request without getting mad. He does seem to be up on alot of stuff (ie WNV, more reactions this year to vaccinations etc) just not up on Sport Horses. He was willing to give ech vaccination in a different area (neck, eaach hip and chest) so that I could tell which vacc the horse was having a reaction to if they had one. I recorded which vacc at each site, but fortunately no reactions.
