Since your trotting horse has a
diagonal gait and "gaited" horses have differing degrees of "lateral" gaits, I
would breed with a horse as close as possible that has a true lateral gait,
which, in my opinion would be a TWH that has a strong pace. The MFT gait is a
modified diagonal gait. Your chance, genetically, is a 50/50 but try to find a
stallion who "stamps" gait more often on non-gaited mares.
