Re: [RC] [RC] loin rubbing - Truman PrevattThis particular horse, the shedding was not causing the problem, the saddle was through friction causing the hair to shed faster in the loin area. The single pad iterface between the saddle and the horse was not sufficient to isolate the friction between the saddel and loin cause by the large movement of this horse. A second thin pad - Dixie Midnight I believe it was - worked wonders. The first pad moved over this pad and not the horse's loin.Truman DeAnn Schnepple wrote: Certainly spring shedding *COULD* cause some problems, but I've seen loin rubbing on horses in the middle of summer too. I've tried the treeless saddle for one training ride and I think I'll stick to my ortho flex. I didn't have the loin rubbing with my horse, but he's a nice short-backed, well put together horse. I just prefer the ortho flex. To each their own. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. That's why there are so many saddle makers to choose from. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
