[RC] Ride Vet's comments on bute - LRN8554Wow, what an uproar. Honestly folks, I will not run her if she is showing any signs of hurting. I finally got thru to the ride manager and the ride vet and he said injectable bute would be out of her system in 48-72 hours and we talked about the location of the stitches and he also thought she would be fine to race. My vet just routinely gives the bute after stitches, in the future he will probably think twice about it. As I said before he described her injury as a skinned elbow for us and sees no reason she can't run and I pay him the big bucks to know what he's talking about.
