There should be many heads hung in shame. Bob Isn't this a typical percentage of finishers in this type of race............I think the idea of riding for mileage only has a lot of merit. If you notice, all of our awards are based on points, not mileage.....Husband and wife, family, war mare, 100 miler. If someone rides 4 100 mile rides and finishes, they get 400 points. If you ride one and win you get 450 points. I think why the system worked in the long gone "old" days was that it was really difficult to go for national championship and only a few were out there trying. The rest could maybe get top ten, show for BC or breed awards but that was about it. Of course, there were way fewer rides and horses got a lot more down time. We used to go to American River at the end of April as our first ride of the year and finish up with Drake's Bay in September as the last or maybe Cow Mountain, the first week of October. The rest of the year the horses got rested from "racing".......mb buç??¬jÇ«¾'¡ñ'vêÚ?Ç?zØm¶?ÿÃ?Û«jw?ëH?ú+?«b¢sè?'2+?¨¦z¸m¶?ÿà ?Û«jw?ëF'^q©©Jæìr¸?{õ'²æìr¸?zm§ÿðçvêÚ?ǧzßë?×?jj??(?«)F'^.?àjwQ?×?i÷
