Bermuda is really tough, once it gets going , it takes over. It likes warm weather. We don't plant it here in the south till May(whereas fescue gets seeded Nov. thru. Feb.)It grows great summer, turns yellow and dormat in winter. It doesn't ususally greenup here till May or so.
So the farmers her plan on fescue for late fall, winter, spring , and bermuda for wummer/early fall.We are in zone 7 (Atlanta metro). Laurie and Rascal

Hi, just wondering about planting bermuda grass in my
pasture. I'm located in Washington state and have been
trying to get some info. on this particular pasture seed.
No one around here carries it or so it seems, but I've read
a few ads in some horse journals regarding its good points.
(They're ads, so I expect they don't tell what the
drawbacks are!) Anyone have any info. on this stuff? I'd
love to plant something that is supposed to hold up to
horses walking over it all day! Thanks! I do know it does
best in full sun, roots are deep, withstands traffic, but
that's about it.
