Re: [RC] Adequan ? - Sally AnnHi! I don't think Chondroprotec and Adequan are used for the same thing. Here is a websight about Chondroprotec: http://www.hymed.com/chondrop.htm or http://www.neogen.com/chondroprotec.htm I believe Chondroprotec is only given out by prescription, and is for outer body wounds. It is supposed to increase the healing process. I have a quarter horse gelding that has artheritis in his hind ankles. He is the love of my life and the only thing that keeps him moving are the regular Adequin shots that he gets. He gets the IM injections. After the fisrt month to almost 2 months I could ride him again. He is almost 17 years old but in my mind much to young to be hindered by artheritis. I've been lucky considering that my dad is also my veterinarian. :) Hope this helps! Sally
