Re: [RC] [RC] Daughters head injury on horse - Deanna GermanSorry to do another me too, but I agree with Maggie and Karen. I'm not a medical professional. Of course, first let the medical docs rule out or handle any trauma related injury that they can, then get thy duaghter to a GOOD chiropractor and get his/her opinion. Medical docs are taught to prescribe pills, cut or sew, in my observation. The way you describe your daughter's accident, she was really slammed around. Here's an idea on how to find a good chiro: if you have college or pro sports teams near you, find out who they use. Many high school athletics programs also use chiropractors, particularly football and hockey programs. I went to a chiropractor last spring after seeing how much positive effect the services of the equine chiro made in my horse. I could tell the affect on my riding. Just two months ago I took a nasty fall, hit butt first, but was tumbling, with my shoulders further around than my pelvis. Really torqued my back. Yeah, I got back on -- had to, ya know? Went straight to the chiro the next day and a few days after. (One note: chiropractors keep wanting you to come back -- I tend to balk at that. I go until I can't tell much difference between one appointment and the next.) I'm not sure about this, but I thought that being knocked unconscious was a definite concussion. I wish you and your daughter well. Deanna =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
