Ariat has some 'coolmax' socks I like, for tall boots.About 10.00$ But I also bought some tall atletic socks at the thrift store (new) with green stripes for 2.00 that are great too. Short socks contributed to my lower legg rubbing.

I'm going shopping as soon as I can walk! (Riding injury, I'm still riding mind you. I just can't walk strait.) I was also wondering about socks. Does it matter what kind you wear? Are any better than others? Or is it just personal preference? And how much water should you carry with you? On the horse? (Yes they drink out of our water bottle too. We just wipe the mouth piece off.) Some one commented on their not being very good water supply on shore to shore, that's why I'm asking.
