Re: [RC] [RC] Dressage Saddles for Endurance Riding - Lori ChandlerAt 03:30 PM 1/2/03 -0800, you wrote:there was a reccomendation to use a dressage saddle on horses who had the saddle slip forward on downhills. The reason being, the sadddle fits behind the shoulders and this keeps it place on decents. Well here's another shameless plug for Reactorpanel :-P. I had to use a crupper with every saddle I rode in from my western Ortho Flex to my Solstice & Stubben until I got the Reactorpanel. In fact I believe I argued with Lisa about not needing a crupper. Was used to using one & was assuming I would have to use one on my mare forever. I was astounded to find that the saddle fit so well that I didn't need the crupper even on really steep decents & believe me I tested it to the max. Course I do understand every horse is different & every rider rides differently, but it is worth considering a correct fit rather than just style of saddle.
