Re: [RC] Dressage saddles for endurance riding - Heidi SmithHave not really paid attention to how a dressage saddle fits in relation to the shoulders, but how much would the saddle be pushing INTO the shoulders on a steep downhill? It makes it sound like the shoulders are what is keeping the saddle from slipping forward......... Just pondering..... Again, on a well-built back, this wouldn't be an issue--but on a poorly built back, it is an issue for saddles other than dressage saddles as well. I'd agree with others who have advised use of a crupper if the back conformation is not sufficient to keep the saddle in place.
