I'm always careful to always have something in my pack for
just those occasions...my daughter keeps reminding me, bless her nagging little
soul as does my pit crew. I make a point of eating at checks even when I'm
not hungry and even if it's only a banana or nuts or something. Some kind
of electrolyte drink is always handy (I can't find Gatorade's Lemon Ice anymore
but recently discovered they made it in Lemon, Orange and Strawberry and those
are pretty good, not sweet at all). I also keep some hard candy around for
emergencies as well as sugar tablets for serious
crashes.
