[RC] Re "Let me get this straight, Amanda. .." - A. Perez
I went to Old dominion because I wanted to see what a ride
was like and get to meet some riders. I helped out as best I
could as crew and spelld a P&R person who's replacement failed
to show up. I did not volunteer to help ride management
because I could not commit to a full day, ahving other
commitments, and because I wanted to see all aspects and not
spend the whole ride in one spot. The next ride I attend I
hope to volunteer in a more 'offical' capacity. One of
my frustrations is that there are not more rides to VOLUNTEER
at near me!
Believe me, I have *NO* DESRIRE to organize a clinic.
I want to ATTEND one (just found out about the 2/28 clinic the
Old Dominion group is sponsoring... THANKS!) but when I ask
why there are not more clinic in the area (or LD rides) I'm
told if I want them to organize it myself.... so I think, OK,
maybe I will, only to be bashed for having the audacity to
think of such a thing....geez, can't win for losing!
I give up. Crawling back under my rock.
""Let me get this straight, Amanda. You are considering
organizing a clinic on distance riding. The experience
you would bring to this enterprise is that you once set foot in
an endurance ridecamp as a casual, last minute, add-on "crew
member" who admitted she didn't do much of anything except toss
a little water and look around camp. You were amazed to see so
much biothane and so little leather tack and to
see so few dressage or Wintec saddles...."
