Ridecamp: RE: [RC] Hunting Season

Some of this makes me very, very happy that essentially we have no
hunting. Duck hunting isn't done in the desert or countryside, and
riding is really muddy by the Nile. We used to have these disgusting
safaris put on by influential neighbours....they would come with their
hummers and big guns to hunt restricted wildlife....all theirs was gone
already. But CITES put pressure on and they've cancelled them now. Still
any hunting was done so far from any human habitation that it wasn't an
issue for riders. 

Now evening soccer matches in the desert are another story. Nothing like
riding past one of those to have a ball come whizzing past your head!
One of my mares inadvertently kicked a goal once and broke all the kids
up.

Still doesn't keep me out of the forest & I know where the tree stands &

blinds are so steer clear of them.  I also find that riding the rougher 
country, I don't see too many hunters as most would rather not have to
pack 
something out.
