Subject: Trail Head In Georgetown, CA "Alert"
Hi Folks: I have received this in the mail and then have spoken to the
Airport folks on this issue. Please forward to anyone that has a trail
interest in El Dorado County especially District IV, (Georgetown, Kelsey,
Greenwood and Garden Valley.
If this proposal goes through, there will be only limited access to the
trails and
trailhead located at the Georgetown Airport off Spanish Dry Diggings Road.
The County, proposes to put up a card lock gate and only plans on
having County staff on Wed. thru Sunday only to fuel aircraft. to request
that the equestrian, hiking and other trail users be included in the
proposed limited shutdown of Georgetown Airport. It would be a shame to lose
this trailhead complete with running water, flush toilets warm water,
benches, tables, lots of shade and friendly people with a phone just across
the airstrip.
You can read more on this issue at http://gtdivide.net/airport/ .
The present operators of the airport Steve and Trish have been there for
us, let's continue this good relationship.
Thanks For Your Time "any questions call me at 530-823-1662 or e-mail"
