Barbara, at the time I lived one town over. A few other facts are that the
plane
was overloaded with hats and souviners, since this little girl was trying to
set a
record and was handing them out across country. My response to this, and
Val, also, is that
even if a 7 year old has completed rigorous flight training, does she have
the years,
life experiences and knowledge of physics; i.e. winds, etc. to make
emergency decisions.
Perhaps if she was older and know knowledgeable, she could have OVERRIDDEN
the
advice of the flying instructor. If she was just doing as told, she then
had no business doing
this.
