Re: [RC] Rain Rot Treatment - AprJhn
My horses had that last year. Best treatment I did was get a medicated
shampoo from my vet.. It's red, but unfortunately no name. Just Fungal
Shampoo. It worked great. The vet sold me a 16 oz bottle and I lathered
Tanna up with about 1/3 of the bottle. That did the trick and no more
rain rot. I used several other things, can't remember them all right
now, and nothing worked like the shampoo. I also used Horesman's Dream
Fung-A-Way that I got at my local Tractor Supply Company, but that
didn't seem to help much either.
Course I also was able to move my horses to my own property instead of
boarding them. I actually shampooed Tanna after I moved him. Change of
environment probably had something to do with why there was no
recurrance. I'll have to see what happens this year.

this condition?
How long will it take to go away? Is this a fungal infection or
something else? Hoping
for a simple treatment.
