    Henry,

Thank you so much for your reply. Your time and thoughts are really
appreciated. I am coming to believe that I should substitute the
words 'farrier' and 'Strasser hoofcare specialist' with 'a bad farrier that I
had used' and 'a good barefoot trimmer. Your may be right about the Strasser
specs not being used on some horses being trimmed by Strasser specialists. I
guess I understand why you care what it is called, but all I know is that my
horse is now getting healthier and more sound. Is he being trimmed to exact
Strasser specs-no I don't think so, we are getting closer. Could I have gotten
this with another good farrier who knows how to do good barefoot trims and not
be Strasser certified? Probably. At this point I'm just glad to have a good
trimmer taking care of my horse.

I know a big concern of alot of people is that the sole is being pared out. My
trimmer and I only take off overgrown bar covering the sole being careful not
to take out too much overgrown bar at once so the sole won't be thin. His
overgrown bar and hoof wall grow forward (you can actually see the tubules
growing horizontally to the ground over the sole), resulting in the underslung
heels. We've been progressing since 3-02 and made alot of progress, but still
not 100%. My hoofcare specialist comes out every 4 weeks and now that I am
getting better at the in between adjustments we will hopefully make faster
    progress.

I am sorry that I made the statement about you not trying hard enough to find a
success. I didn't realize that you were looking for a horse that was sound AND
had the hoof trimmed to exact Strasser specs. To me success is a sound horse
    that has normal healthy feet.

I am forwarding this response to ridecamp so my apology is public.

    Thanks again,

    Anna
