There are ride fees and the per-rider sanction fees that pay for these
things.

I sure would. It is a wonderful organization. But it does have
faults, and IMO this is one of the worst.

Oh, I can think of LOTS of places where that isn't true. Maybe it's
the norm in horse shows and country clubs, but not in most amateur
sports.
