Re: [RC] Director at Large - Barbara McCrary
That's a lot of twaddle, Joe. Every year, we have a few riders who are
non-members. Only the rare one doesn't pay the non-member fee along with
his or her entry fee, and the ones who don't pay up front, do so with only a
gentle reminder. I fail to understand what is so onerous about paying a
non-member fee and why a non-member should receive equal benefits to those
of paid members. I also fail to understand why everyone screams every time
there is a dues increase, but that's another issue. My husband and I pay as
much as $200 each a year to belong to organizations that support the farming
and ranching business. The relatively small fees we pay for our sport seem
like peanuts, especially in view of the other costs of supporting horse
ownership....i.e. trailers, horses, hay, tack, etc. etc. Have you priced
golf course fees and ski lift tickets?
OK, off my soapbox now.......
