I agree with that rationale on 50's, but in my experience, it has been less
applicable on 100's. Part of it is that we just don't see the number of
unprepared horses on 100's (or at least I haven't, and I've seen a bunch of
'em) that we do on 50's, and perhaps even more importantly, the initial pace
is not as fast.
