Re: [RC] There is a goldfish in my water! - Jim Holland
Would somebody please explain why we CARE if there is algae in the
tank? I move my guys to a different pasture every week and the barn
tank is cleaned with clorox and soap every three days, (the guys wash
their mouths out in it..yuck) so I NEVER have algae...just not in any
one pasture long enough for it to be a problem.
I remember growing up in North Carolina and we always had horses, mules,
and ponies. The water troughs were wood..usually a hollowed out
log...and the algae was heavy and long...and the water stayed crystal
clear. (Of course, we didn't feed Omolene or Beet Pulp then) We would
just flush it once in a while by overfilling it,(With a pitcher pump)
and just break the ice in winter.
Considering that on the trail, both my guys like the greenest, yuckiest,
muddiest, most frog infested mud puddle over the clear mountain streams,
why do we care?
